My daughter and I were driving home from school yesterday afternoon, and I said “How much homework do you have tonight?” She replied that while she didn’t have a lot of homework due tomorrow “I really need to get some projects started and start studying for finals.” And like all good fathers in the world, wanting to support this mature, positive, studious approach to life, I responded “Homework is for losers, let’s go to the “Avengers” opening tonight.” And because my daughter is as fun as she is studious, she responded “Awesome, let’s do it! … How are we going to get Mom to let us go?”

Well, as my daughter is the last of our children left in our house, it wasn’t that tough of a sell. My wife was in from the get-go. My daughter even invited a friend. And as my older sons would probably not have been allowed to do this on a school night, I will be getting the transcontinental finger when they find out we went. Sorry guys.

So we all went to the 12:01 showing of Avengers and it was well worth the sleep deprivation, even for an old man like myself. As I don’t want to anger the readers of our blog I will not ruin it for anybody. I will say it had a witty script throughout (not just the trailer lines), it had enough tight fitting clothing to keep both men and women intrigued, and the action was excellent. The Hulk was my personal favorite. All around entertainment for all four of us. I give it a thumbs up.
